Individual Therapy

My individual practice is focused on adults who are experiencing depression, grief or loss, or who are struggling during a life transition such as divorce/separation, a new marriage, retirement or a difficult medical diagnosis. My style is interactive and collaborative. I use a blend of psychodynamic, cognitive and positive psychology theories and approaches to help the individual work through their problems and reach their goals.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

The first appointment will last about 90 minutes. We will discuss your understanding of the problems and concerns you are experiencing. I'll ask you a lot of questions so that I can understand the nature of the help you are seeking. Since I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that depends on a good alliance between the therapist and client, we will use this time to determine if you think my focus and recommendations about how to proceed make sense to you. All individual sessions are 50 minutes.
